We build pods of 4 children, each joined by one of our Learning Guides. Our small groups enable your child to work on their social skills and relationship building through play with just a few kids, rather than 10 or 20.
Children follow their individual interests providing an emergent curriculum. Through self-directed activities, children develop their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical skills through their interactions with nature and each other.
A Learning Guide accompanies a pod on their adventures, nurturing the kids' growth and development.
Using specific and targeted supports, our Guides help children build a solid foundation and improve their sense of self.
We focus on building a strong social-emotional foundation in each child. This includes a strong sense of self, understanding of their emotions and how to manage them, and the requisite self-help skills to navigate their world.
Colorado Nature School requires that children be 3 years old and fully potty trained before enrollment. This means that children are able to recognize when they need to use the toilet, communicate that need, and manage their own toileting and hygiene with minimal assistance.
We believe that parents are an important part of their child's education. We provide resources and support to help parents stay involved and informed about their child's progress.
