In Forest Kindergarten, children spend three days per week in the forest, and one day per week exploring and learning in the town of Golden which give us access to museums, the library, many parks and town life.
We focus on community, social/emotional skills, independence, resilience and a relationship with the natural world.
Each week, we invite the children to engage with language, math and science concepts through choice, interest-led learning, self-direction, hands-on investigating, exploration and meaningful work.
The forest and town days provide ample opportunities, and we enhance that with books and stories, journals, and hands-on materials that help us learn letters, numbers, shapes and science concepts.
Kindergarten standards are introduced, as well as forest school skills, and we spend lots and lots of time enjoying free play!
We are governed first and foremost by forest school ethos and a belief that all children deserve to play, rest, make choices and learn in their own way and on their own timeline. Come learn through play with us!
